PCCL was developed through collaboration between polymer faculty within the Chemistry department. Faculty wanted a place where common experiments and instrumentation would be available for all their students, reducing financial impact on a single research group. Through this spirit of collaboration, PCCL was born and continues to grow! Since the lab’s inception, graduate students from each polymer group donates their time caring for the equipment and instrumentation. In exchange, these student managers gain expertise in instrument operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and processing. While the lab has now grown from a small collaborator pool into one of Chemistry’s newest auxiliary labs, we continue this spirit of education to foster the next scientific generation in polymeric instrument education.

PCCL still primarily serves the polymer research groups within the Chemistry department. However, self-operational users are welcome from any University of Florida college or department.
